Are you the cripple? Do you feel like the leper in the painting? Do you feel so unclean that you believe Jesus would never come near you - let alone change your life?
This painting is number five in this move of God in my life. Our Jesus is a power-house and I LOVE HIM so much!!!!!!!! Nothing is impossible for Him. He doesn't laugh at us, but is overjoyed and delighted to lend a hand. Our problems are simple things for Him to handle.
This was my favorite painting - to paint. Do you get the celebration - party - joy -EMOTION it was painted in?? I don't know which painting is my favorite because they all have their own ministry area, but this one definitely was a JOY to paint!!!
Do you notice the terror in the eye of the leper? He has been mocked and persecuted his entire life and now he is being changed before our eyes and he is COMMANDED to rise up and walk. Change can be very scary even when we are stuck in a broken body and would love to escape that body...at least we are used to these rags and this routine and now we must rise up and walk and leave the rags behind!!!!
I have been this leper and I cannot explain to you the volcanic power of the Holy Spirit of the Living God when He comes into your body and transforms you into a new creation. I complained to God as I was laying on the floor receiving this painting!!! (sorry Lord!) The Lord had shown me two days previous (August of 2000- this part is yet to be fulfilled) that my husband and I and our two boys will be going to Uganda. I will be bringing the paintings all over Uganda and other parts of Africa. (more on Uganda below!) These paintings are BIG (the smallest is 5ft x 4ft) - per the Lord's instructions!!!! They are kind of like bill boards....you can't MISS them! AND HERE THE LORD WAS GIVNG ME ANOTHER ---BIG--- PAINTING!!!!
(Never, Ever Complain about the Lord's blessings!!!)
He wants to BLESS those people in Uganda, which is one of the dry, forgotten areas of the world where the people are hurting desperately, but here I was moaning and groaning about His plan. I said, "Lord, How can I cart these paintings around?" He laughed (so beautifully) and said, "This is not a problem," but He didn't give me the answer!!! At this point please remember I am seeing this very painting with Jesus reaching down to the cripple and even the title had just been given to me, RISE UP AND WALK, but then in the next moment I realized I WAS the cripple, held back by so many things and God HAS the power to change ALL my circumstances!
Jesus delights in you. He desires to change you. He wants to make YOU whole. He has SPECIALLY designed work for you to do.
Leave your terror behind and take a step of faith and accept Him as your Messiah today!!
Post script : Three months after this revelation, the Lord moved my family and I across the United States. My husbands company paid for the move and also (at the movers recommendation) had custom museum quality crating built for the paintings at a cost of $5000.00. Those boxes I was complaining about are now built at no cost to me! I never would have dreamed any of it. I had just bought a new home four months before the move - and all of it was a surprise. BUT we always need more faith....and you see....it is really true...Love is not for sale....The Lord will take care of my needs and yours. He supports "His" work and that is why you can copy these paintings right off the internet for free because they truly are gifts of love for you.....and love is not for sale!! Please keep the title and testimony with the painting as all are given via the Holy Spirit.
Perhaps the Lord has placed the orphans and the people of Uganda on your heart also and you'd like to help. My husband and I have had Ugandan Pastor, Joseph Mayega, of Kampala come and stay with us in our home in the United States (He visited us again for the first time on the West Coast recently in May 2006 and now again in May 2007) and though long since returned, he keeps us informed of the situation in Uganda. We have welcomed Jopseph's bride, Rebecca, to our home now also. They were married in the fall of 2006 and now daughter Jemimah was born in 2007.
His indigenous Ugandan church - the Gospel Messengers - has planted over 87 churches (as of Feb 2008) in Northern Uganda, 3 in Rwanda and 2 in the
Democratic Republic of Congo. This is a large family ministry, began by Joseph's father.
They also support and teach and train in the gospel over 800 orphans (of the two million orphans in Uganda!) At present in Jan 2008, they have been supplying (with their churches) the huge homeless group (thousands) in Northern Uganda with blankets and hope and much more. Rebecca, along with Joseph, has a huge burden for the prostitutes in Uganda, who until taught another way have no other way to obtain food or security for themselves and their families.
